The Wandering Soul

Don't mind me. I'm just trying to find my calling here in the vast internet.

Hey, long time no ACTUAL CONTENT WOAH WHAT

Yes, yes. It's high time I got back on the blogging train instead of wasting my time announcing streams. Because there's been things happening in life. Perhaps I don't have much to say on a daily basis anymore, but there are still things happening.

Firstly, I would just like to point out that yes, I am indeed alive, for those of you following me here and only here. If you were to follow/stalk me anywhere else, though, you'd notice that I am actually quite active.

Secondly, I do read other people's blogs still. It's sort of a daily thing that I do. I just don't always comment. And I've noticed that I've also been lacking in commenting on other people's stuff. Which they seem to like. So I'll try to do that more, maybe just throwing my two cents in there or something.

Thirdly, an announcement on streaming. Yes, yes. I'm well aware that I haven't done anything for a few weeks, stream wise. But that will all change this week. This Saturday, 10/26, usual time. (10:00pm CST) And we're getting spoopy with this one. Or, at least trying to.

Alright, with those announcements over, time for some life stuff. Which you may or may not be interested in.

--------

So, college. Many of you know I'm in it. And so far, it's been going somewhat well. However, it is taking up a lot of my free time. Ever since college started, I haven't read a single book that isn't related to any of my classes. And this is making me sad, as there are a few books on my list of books-to-read. But I DO (somehow) manage to have time to draw, if only for a bit. Which is why progress on some drawings are crawling. (Sorry Southpaw)
Also, on the topic of college, I've had my first string of mid-terms AND my first college final. Jeez, can you believe it's been eight weeks already? I know I can't. It went by so incredibly fast. I barely had time to smell the roses. Anyway, I did say final, too. Now, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I have a MASSIVE hole in my schedule, as I'm pretty much done at 9am. Those will be the "get shit done" days, I've decided. Be it homework, studying, chores, art, or otherwise, I'm going to do things. Hopefully.

Next on the list of updates... Well, I guess I can say that I decorated for halloween the other day. Put some spider webs up over the yard light and railings up the stairs. Funny thing, though; I saw a spider crawl into one of the fake webs. Hey, maybe some of the real stuff will be mixed in. You never know.

I've also got some glowing eyes in a window and a bag of skulls hanging on the yard light, which glows orange. Looks pretty cool, if I do say so myself. I'm considering re-making some pages from Slender and place them around the yard, but that fad might be over. Not as scary as it was a year ago.

So, yeah. I think that's about it for today. I'll try to post more stuff here. (It's just that my life is a bit boring and not a lot of things happen heheh)

(not) Streaming! (anymore)

'Tis a shame, I know. But, as always, you could watch the three hour long fest of odd on my livestream channel, along with any of the past ones.

Oh, and this happened.

Beatin' stick.

So, college.

Yes, it was a thing that happened this past week. I fully realize that this blog is a bit late, but it's finally here. Since the vast majority, if not all of you, seem to be interested in my college experience so far, this blog shall be about that. Even though I've only been at it for a little over a week. So sit down and get comfy, because this blog post is a big one.

So, I guess I should start off with the campus. It's beautiful. Even though I've had less than a week, I already found the best spot to relax and study. But I guess instead of describing all these things, it would be better just to show you. From the sub-par quality of an iPad nonetheless.

This is the hang-out point in question. The atmosphere here is great, and every once in a while there's a guy who just plays his guitar. No singing, just playing. And he's good. Anyway, I end up spending a lot of my downtime there studying, doing homework, doodling, and procrastinating. (Hey, at least I'm honest.)

This was SUPPOSED to be a really cool picture of a waterfall / brook type thing that's outside, but I couldn't get the angle I wanted. (If I did, I'd look like a dork trying to) So, I guess you can deal with this. Another cool thing about this site that I didn't take a picture of is that, since it's on a steep hill with trees scattered about, people lay in the shade of the trees on the hill, some even sleeping. It's like one of my pictures I drew, except it's happening everywhere.

I just took this one because I thought it looked cool. It's actually inside, and sort of sending sunlight down into the basement level of one of the buildings.

So, with that out of the way, let's talk classes.

The first class I have, which is on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8am to 10am, is a digital fundamental class. I'm basically learning how chips work, both old and new, and a bunch of other digital stuff. I can't say specifics, as the syllabus he gave out is pretty vague. On it, though, it says that by the end of the class, I should be able to "explain the basic concepts of digital electronics, identify the basic components used in digital electronics, describe the basic operating parameters of discrete circuits, and use test equipment to troubleshoot and determine basic electrical and electronic circuit characteristics."

Also, this is the class with the Professor that was a part of the Manhattan Project and worked at Fermilab, which had the second biggest particle accelerator in the world.

Then there's a two hour break, where I eat, do homework, study, draw, browse the web... stuff like that.

The second class is Introduction to Programmable Logic Controllers, or as I like to call it, Intro to PLCs. It's also on Mondays and Wednesdays, but it's from noon to 2pm. And this class is pretty much what it sounds like; you learn about programmable logic controllers, how they're used, the parts of it, the terminology of it, programming it, etc. I'll be honest here, though. The teacher for this one is very monotone, and I find myself struggling to not close my eyes and miss some notes (which he goes through at mach 1)

Third class is English. Easy enough and pretty straightforward. Reading and writing, how fun. This class is on Tuesday and Thursday from 8am to 9:15am. The prof is interesting, as well as my classmates. They come from all over the place. There's one from Africa, one from Ukraine, another from California, and a fourth from Arkansas, who was in an exchange program in Italy for a year.

-insert one hour break here-

Fourth class is Electronic Fundamentals. This class is a doozy, as it's from 10am to 2pm. Yeah, it's a four hour long class. True, we have breaks in between, but still it's quite long. Anyway, this class is all about electronics. Resistors, circuitry... all that fun stuff. The syllabus says that this course is "designed to teach fundamentals of electronics technology, and includes an exploration of the basic skills and competencies of electricity and electronics." Here are a few problems about this class: Firstly, the professor has a fairly large Hungarian accent (which sounds similar to a Russian accent) so it can be a bit hard to understand him at times. Secondly, it's only an eight week class, when all of my other classes are sixteen weeks. So the homework is understandably heavy.

The last class I'll talk about is Physics. It's a night class, going from 7pm to 9pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. And, well, it's physics. And physics is fun.

So, that's it then. That's my schedule for this semester. And you saw a bit of my campus. There's a bunch of other cool things there, but due to the sub-par quality of the iPad, it didn't turn out that great. I might post some later if I find a way to take a good picture.

Stay awesome,

The iPad isn't even mine, it's my moms. I'm saving up for a smaller laptop, though.

Tomorrow. (Or, today, depending on where you live)

This is it. Come Monday, I shall begin my life as a college student. I've got all my stuff set;

Pens: Check

Pencils: Ding.

Folders: Yup

Schedual and room numbers printed out so I know where I'm going: Oh yeah.

Books: Well, I--

ALL the books: .......

Damn.

One of my books that I ordered online hasn't arrived yet. And here's the kicker: it's the book I need for my first class of the day.

Massive panic attack insues.

Chances of getting a good nights sleep today: Not likely, but possible.

Anyway, I got to wake up early tomorrow. My first class starts at 8:00, and trying to find a good  parking spot at the college that I will go to that shall remain unnamed is similar to doing one of thoes I Spy books through a straw or trying to find Waldo at a Waldo convention.

Which is just great.

So, after my first class ends at around 10, I've got until noon to do something, most likely eating lunch and maybe updating a few things. (Haiku, most likely)

Then I've got another class from noon to 2, and that will be the end of my day.

Hopefully I won't die.

Stay awesome,

-PseudonyM
